About my classes
Qigong & Yin Yoga
Qigong is an ancient Chinese healing art that weaves together gentle, fluid, breath-centred movements with stillness and intention. Rooted in thousands of years of wisdom, it’s designed to cultivate, harmonise and balance the body’s vital energy – known as qi. Through mindful motion and breath, qigong invites a sense of deep calm, clarity, and inner vitality.
Yin Yoga complements this beautifully with its focus on long-held, floor-based poses that work deep into the connective tissues, joints, and fascia. These postures are held in stillness, often for several minutes, allowing the body to open gradually and the mind to settle. Yin helps improve flexibility, enhances circulation, and supports the free flow of qi throughout the body.
Both practices are deeply meditative and breath-focused, offering a space to release tension, slow the nervous system, and return to a sense of inner balance. Whether you're looking to replenish your energy, find calm, or reconnect with yourself, these classes offer the perfect opportunity to pause and come home to your body.

Qigong & Restorative Yoga

My yoga journey
I came to yoga in my mid-thirties, initially drawn to the physical practice as a way to stay fit and healthy. Over the years, frequent house moves with my military husband gave me the chance to explore a variety of styles, from Iyengar and Ashtanga to Yin, Scaravelli and more.
It was while living and working in Malaysia, that I began to realise yoga offered something far deeper. Beyond movement, it gave me precious space to be still, to breathe, and to find a sense of calm. Towards the end of our time in Kuala Lumpur, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training at Yogshakti and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I hadn’t planned to teach; I simply wanted to deepen my own understanding of yoga. But after discovering the teachings of Shilpa Ghatalia, I felt inspired to share them with others.
For me, yoga is so much more than physical postures. Learning to regulate the breath and focus the mind is what truly anchors us, creating a pathway to stillness and clarity.
The yoga I teach today weaves together qigong with slow, spinal-centred flows, yin and restorative practices, pranayama, yoga nidra, and meditation - a combination that is both energising and deeply restorative.
Yoga is an ongoing journey of discovery, and I love continuing to learn and evolve. Since my teacher training in 2019, I’ve continued my education online with Shilpa Ghatlia at Yogshakti (doing Buteyko Breathwork and Cultivating Inner Silence courses) and many other inspiring teachers around the world, including Sarah Powers (yin), Paul and Suzie Grilley (yin), Jo Phee (AcuYin), Matthew Sanford (subtle body), Mimi Kuo-Deemer (qigong), and Matthew Cohen (qigong). I’m currently completing a 100-hour Mindful Yin Training with Jennifer Raye.
In 2024 my son built me a beautiful yoga studio in the garden. It’s where I start my day and from where I teach my classes on Zoom. I feel very lucky to have this dedicated space for yoga.
